Established OST Division Approaching Optical Technology Market, Suruga started production and sales of optical instruments as OST Brand. In the beginning there were only 5 sales people and 1 customer service person,and 20 engineers in OST.

Catalog thickness got tripled Added other necessary items for optical research, such as instruments, tables,optical devices. OST's handling item quality and quantity had jumped up.
Started business of "Auto Alignment" Aligning Fiber to Fiber...Automation desire had began. Automatic Alignment System development started.
Tokyo Sales Office Established Due to dramatic increase of inquiry from customers, we formed Tokyo Sales Office to have timely contact with the customers from Tokyo. The location had chosen Kanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
Established Headquarter Building Built up OST design house and office, and factory processing place were less vibrated space for increase production quality. Renewing building together with renewing ourselves to increase our performance.
Began Overseas Sales Expansion The first anticipation of overseas' exhibition was in CLEO expo at Baltimore U.S.
Established Kansai Office To approach West side based customers in Japan, OST established Kansai Office.

Cooperation with Coherent U.S. Coherent U.S., major in Laser company cooperates with OST. We supply OEM to U.S. Coherent, and U.S. Coherent supplies Diode Laser, Laser Beam Measure Instrument to OST.
